The Key of F# major
F# major is F♯ – G♯ – A♯ – B – C♯ – D♯ – E♯.
Why this key
F♯ major has six sharps and is usually written as G♭ instead. On guitar it is simply E shapes moved up two frets, which is why it appears in rock more often than the notation suggests — players get there by sliding a shape, not by reading it.
